Christmas in Africa

We spent our first Christmas out of the USA.
It was refreshing to see more emphasis on Jesus than on Santa. Part of that could be because many of then do not have much. Even the ones with resources are helping raise others children in their homes. The District Superintendent we are staying with has his own children plus others. He said once, "I don't know how many children we've raised. They had a big Christmas service at 0600 (6 AM) then went to spend the day with family.

There was no emphasis on gifts in this house on Christmas day although all the kids got something during December.

We have been adopted into Rev. Curtis Solomon Ndlovu's family. We had Christmas dinner at the family home in Welverdiend where his mother lives. We got to meet some of our new brothers, sister and their families.

Here are a few pictures from that day.
