JoAnn finally got her computer back. We have had a busy couple of days.
Yesterday we spent most of the day at Morningside Church for the funeral of our friend's (Rev. Gabriel Benjamin) brother Herman. He was a Christian but was only in his 40's. The service was handled very well. Pastor Gabe delivered a really good and to the point message. Many hugs later we came back to where we are staying.

Today was another day of ministry. After being treated to a nice breakfast looking at the Indian Ocean, we went shopping for things for the kids at the Child Development Centers. Some will be very young and some older. We got soccer balls, small balls that were soft, skipping (jump) ropes, huha hoops, large soft rubber ball, small soft rubber balls, rubber puzzles with letters, numbers, etc., bubbles, play dough some small push toys.

We found out the skipping ropes were an answer to prayer. They had 2 and someone took them. The children had just told them recently that they really wanted ropes again. Well God not only answered prayer but doubled the number. We did not know about this but brought them 4.

Here are a few pictures. It is getting late and we have a service in the morning.

PRAYER REQUEST: Please pray for our friend Marge Henley from home, who is scheduled to have brain surgery Monday for a tumor. She is in Missouri with her daughter.

With the gifts we left.

23 November at Mbazwana in the north of Kwa Zulu Natal

22 November we spent over 4 hours driving to the church we would be ministering at. The cabin we are staying at is very nice. The pastors wife works here and was able to get us lodging for free.

This is Mbazwana Church of the Nazarene.
The worship team and the MC are leading worship.

Catching up after the power outage

Here are two days in one blog. The children were very attentive and responsive.
Of course they loved the balls and were very thankful.
Some of the centers do not have as many children right
now because they are writing exams.
If you sponsor a child through the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries
Child Sponsorship program this is a sample of your money at work.

One of the high school students made it.

Saying thank you.

Our Program Friday was canceled because of  schedule complications.
The center will still receive the balls.

Saturday was busy getting things ready for our flight to Durban on Monday.
We will be singing at a district rally tomorrow (Sunday).
Will post again when I can.

Thank you again to all who helped us go on this mission trip.

16 NOV A busy but good day

ANOTHER BUSY BUT GOOD DAY!
We started the day with a nice breakfast from Wimpys.
We then went to Soweto to start the days ministry.
We visited an older lady who had just had surgery that
is a member of Pastor Timothy's church. We encouraged her and prayed
for her healing. We also interceeded for her son who is on drugs.

We then went to Siyakhula Creche and Pre School where the children ranged
from 1 year old to 5 years old. JoAnn told the story of Zacchaeus and how Jesus
even knows and sees the small and young people. She shared how Jesus wanted
to come into their life and be with them just like he went home with Zacchaeus.
One of the workers translated. When JoAnn asked, 2 of the children said they
asked Jesus to come into their heart.

We made another house call to a lady who had broken her leg. We had good
fellowship and closed with a time of prayer. She said she was encouraged.

The second CDC had children from 4th to 12th grade. JoAnn presented
a story from the Bible and shared the gospel. The Lady Pastor then talked
to them and prayed with them. The pastor thanked us for sharing the Gospel
with them. They then fed us a chicken leg and "pap". It was the same meal the
children ate.
All the CDC's have a time for homework, Bible lessons, sports and a meal before they go home.
